Who Are We?

My name is Heidi and I am your friendly Work & Play, Day by Day blog author! I am married to Tim, a Montessori trained teacher. We have 3 living children, 1 living with God our Father in eternity, and 1 in protected development. It is our desire to live a simple and responsible life that brings glory to God through our words and our actions. Our core values are faith, family, and respect.

I have a background in education with a variety of experiences in teaching, directing, and training in early childhood programs. I left the "professional" world in 2006 for the most important group of children I have ever worked with, my own. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, fiber crafts, and the occasional freelance writing job.

I started this blog in 2008 as a way to document some challenges we were having as a family regarding the education of our own children. I have come to share information and ideas on our homeschooling journey, family faith development, gluten free living, and other household tidbits of information! I have met many amazing people on my blogging adventures and reconnected with old friends.
