To help reinforce his numbers, I put this activity together for Aidan. He lines up the numbers and then gives each number a cup. (For those of you familiar with Montessori, these particular numbers belong to our set of sandpaper numbers.) Then he can count objects into the cups. He started with some gemstones from another work and I told him he can count other objects as well. I’m hoping he’ll take me up on counting legos and other things into the glasses for extra practice! This is a loose adaptation of something called the Spindle Box in his classroom.
