First Salad Signals Spring

I realize of course that it isn't much...actually, its just my thinned out plants...but I couldn't let them go to waste, could I?

What are those peeking blossoms?

Why I'm so glad you asked! Those are my pumpkin plants blossoming. Thank you, boys, for making me start them far too early! Still to do today...go pinch off a few of those buds to help make bigger pumpkins come fall! (And then pray like crazy for no frost tonight because I don't think I have enough sheets and blankets to cover everything!)

I know I said I would be waiting to share Kenna in the garden, but I had to share this beautiful stained glass butterfly that landed in my strawberry patch on Mother's Day. One year ago today, my cousin Amy tragically passed away at the tender age of 30. My thoughts are with my aunts and uncles today as they remember her too short life and unexpected death.
