Homeschool Highlight Reel- A Few New Activities

Welcome to the Homeschool Highlight Reel, a weekly blog carnival for homeschooling families to share ideas, inspiration, and encouragement with one another.  If this is your first time participating, you can read the rules and get your HHR buttons here.

This has been a weird week for us, and looking at the calendar, the rest of the month is going to be just the same.  I anticipate irregular posting from me at best!  Our weekly library time, however, has remained sacred in the schedule and two weeks ago I picked up the book, Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Toddlers & Preschoolers.

After trying out many of the poses and routines, I decided we needed a good way to use the poses individually on a more regular basis.  I took some of the images and enlarged them 150%, cut them out, glued them to brown and blue construction paper, and laminated them with clear contact paper.   I love how they turned out, but as time allows I am going to replace my copyright fishy version with actual pictures of the boys.

Here are some shots of the boys laying out the cards on our low work table and practicing poses.

Our other new work actually came from a Sunday School curriculum sample my mom gave us.  She does writing and consulting and passes on extras from time to time.  It is a memory style game with a picture of two animals from a distance (hmmm... I wonder what story that goes with?) and then a "match" with a blown up section from the picture.

I laminated it of course...because I am a mad crazy laminator.  This would be really simple to make more cards or cards with a different theme by duplicating photos and then cropping one.  I think it would be neat to do with family members.  Maybe in my spare time one of these days....

So what are you up to these days?  We would love to take a peek into your homeschooling home!  Don't forget to link back here and also to add your post to MckLinky so we can come visit you!
