A Special Day for Aidan (and his old Mom!)

I did not anticipate the emotion that would overcome me as I watched my oldest son receive his First Holy Communion last weekend.  I could barely choke out my own response to those precious words, moments later.  Aidan was the only child receiving for the first time and it worked out perfectly.  During his homily, Father commented (speaking about sacraments in general) that Aidan was home schooled and then motioned to Tim and said, "we have determined he is ready to participate in this sacrament now."

Isn't that just the way it should be?

I only have a few pictures that we took after Mass on Tim's phone, and they are really red and sort of out of focus for some reason, but I'm glad to have them.

I doubt, however, that I will need them as the day is firmly set in my memory.

Aidan looks a lot like Tim in those photos! And, so handsome in that shirt and tie. :) Looks like it was a great day for everyone. ;)

What a big milestone for you both - May receiving the bread and wine make Aiden a beacon of light for all.
We only have one more to take First Communion, and he is constantly asking questions about it and why he cannot have some now. I am excited for when he does, but sad that he is growing so fast.

What a fun day! I remember very clearly when each of my kids received their First Communion. What glorious memories those are. Congratulations to your family on such a wonderful milestone!
