While history and math have fallen by the wayside this summer, the kid’s rainbow garden (more photos here) is producing it’s first fruits….er…well….vegetables.

“Easter Egg” Radishes
I was hesitant to allow these to be planted because I dislike radishes, but it turns out that we all enjoy them in stir fry with the broccoli, onions, and peas we are harvesting from the main garden boxes.  Kylee’s guinea pig, Kirby, is also quite fond of the tops!

Blue Popping Corn
Here are a few photos from the rest of our gardens.  In addition to broccoli, onions, and peas we are also picking lettuce, spinach, and herbs.  We have tomatoes, peppers, and garlic that are looking fantastic.  Many other things are coming along as well.

I know I am supposed to be taking the buds off of my strawberries since this is their first year, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.  Maybe if they weren’t doing quite so well it would be easier!
The gardens are the only part of my yard that look good, but we are enjoying them to be sure!
