Only God Can Make A Kitten Review

Children have an awe inspiring wonder about the natural world around them.  Tiny pieces of grass, leaves, seeds, flowers, animals...they notice things that adults have long since stopped paying attention to.

Written in easy to read rhyme, Only God Can Make A Kitten by Rhonda Gowler Greene, follows a young boy as he wanders the world noticing the smallest of details.  One each page, he makes an observation and asks who makes such an amazing thing.   His mama and little sister follow him on his adventure answering "only God can make a ...." for each inquiry.

Illustrated by Laura J. Bryant, this book is a beautiful read aloud for toddlers and preschool aged children.  The pictures are done in soft colors with an attention to details.  When we read this book, we often find ourselves looking for other things that were hidden (but not really) in the pages.  Some books seemingly get rotated off of our shelves as soon as they are added, but not this one.

In the end of the story as the child prepares for bedtime, Mom reminds the young boy of all the wonderful things God made..."best of all," she says, "God made YOU!"

This book definitely gets five stars on my BookLook Blogger and Amazon reviews!

In exchange for an honest review, I was given a free copy of this book through the BookLook Bloggers program.
